FAQs

We Are Here For You

What should I expect from my first session?

We would always speak to you before our first session to understand a bit more about you and the suitability of soft tissue therapy.

During our first session there is a little bit of paperwork to complete, but this is very informal and helps plan the best treatment for you as an individual. The first session is likely to last around 80-90 minutes.

What should I wear for my session?

Ideal clothing would be described as comfy! Ladies wear a bra with a traditional fastening rather than a sports bra, and for treatment on your legs we would recommend a pair of loose shorts.

Do you offer treatment at my home?

Yes, we can offer fully mobile treatments, but please contact us to discuss this further.

Do you treat children?

Yes, we do offer treatment for adolescents. Any client under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult who must remain in the treatment room for the duration of the session.

Are you insured?

Yes, we have professional liability insurance through the Institute of Soft Tissue Therapists.

Is soft tissue therapy right for me?

Soft tissue therapy can help with various conditions:

muscle or tendon strains

ligament sprains ( such as twisted ankles)

acute sports injuries

chronic injuries

low back pain

tension headaches

tense upper back and neck

carpal tunnel syndrome

runners knee

tennis elbow

rotator cuff injuries

frozen shoulder

hip pain

The massage is designed to relax and loosen muscles which results in increased mobility, flexibility and range of movement. By manipulating the muscles and soft tissues, it encourages blood flow in to the area which helps remove toxins and waste products improving lymphatic drainage. With increased blood flow comes more oxygen and nutrients therefore improving recovery time. If you train hard, sports massage is a great way to reward your body, you will benefit from decreased muscle tension and neurological excitability, as well as increased sense of wellbeing and relaxation.

Soft tissue therapy is not just for sports people, as it can help with conditions such as sciatica, MS, diabetes, IBS, arthritis, high blood pressure, carpal tunnel, post surgery scar tissue and stress reduction.

The above list is not definite. If you are unsure if soft tissue therapy is the right approach to help you with your condition, please get in touch. The initial consultation is free, honest and without obligation to book.
